THE PRACTICAL BUYING GUIDES
When a source item is unavailable: decide what to do next
A saved product link can stop being available between browsing and ordering. First check the original source and ask your buying platform whether the item is unavailable, temporarily delayed or simply missing one option.
Start with a clear record
A saved product link can stop being available between browsing and ordering. First check the original source and ask your buying platform whether the item is unavailable, temporarily delayed or simply missing one option.
If you have not paid, pause and compare another source carefully. A similar photo does not prove that it is the same item. Check the option, measurements and price again rather than carrying old assumptions into a replacement.
Ask before you decide
If you already paid, ask the platform handling your order which choices are actually available. Request the current cancellation, refund or substitution terms and any relevant deadline in writing.
You may prefer to wait, replace the item or cancel, but do not treat any of those as a universal right on every platform. The applicable process depends on the seller, order stage and provider terms.
Before accepting a replacement, record the new source link and selection. Keep the conversation and any confirmed change together with your order notes so that later warehouse photos are checked against the right item.
